British Columbia Scholarship Society’s Indigenous Grant Program
The British Columbia Scholarship Society is committed to supporting Indigenous students through its 2024 Indigenous Award program. This initiative is targeted towards students who identify as Indigenous, including First Nations (both Status and Non-Status), Métis, or Inuit. The following details the award benefits, eligibility, and application process.
Financial Support through the Indigenous Award 2024
This scholarship helps mitigate financial burdens for Indigenous students at various academic levels. Those in apprenticeship programs, trades training, or certificate courses of at least 7 weeks are eligible for a $1,000 award. For programs longer than 12 weeks, the award increases to $2,000. Undergraduate students may receive $3,000, and graduate students (Master’s or Doctoral) are eligible for up to $5,000. These awards can be renewed annually, provided students meet ongoing eligibility requirements.
Eligibility and Application Criteria
To qualify, students must exhibit strong academic performance, reflected through GPA, coursework, and standardized test scores. Extracurricular involvement, leadership roles, and financial need may also be considered. Some awards may be distributed based on a random lottery.
